QUESTIONS?

WHAT EXACTLY IS A "BEER CITY CUP"?                                                                                                                    Beer City Cup is an '8 v 8' adult soccer tournament that offers a venue for the most talented teams / players to come together and compete against the other best teams in the country. The combination of high level soccer, cash prizes and the social atmosphere of a beer-fest creates a soccer scene that every player wants to be part of.

Unlike other small sided tournaments (7 v 7, etc) that play on small fields with small goals, Beer City Cup games are played on fields that are 80 x 55 yards with 7' x 21' goals, not the smaller 6' x 18' goals.

We've tried to make the Beer City Cup as close to 'regular' soccer as possible. The only noticeable tweak is that there is no offsides.

Smaller sided soccer creates more opportunities on goal, shots, saves, goals and a level of excitement unattainable with most 11 v 11 adult soccer. With more action on the pitch, both the player and spectator have more fun and are super entertained.

It is also the most exciting tournament for all REC level teams who are looking for a good time on and off the field!

DO I HAVE TO ENTER MY ADULT LEAGUE TEAM, or CAN I PUT TOGETHER A TEAM FROM MULTIPLE TEAMS IN MY LEAGUE?

You can do whatever you want.

Some leagues have teams that play regularly during the week, but also like to travel to adult soccer tournaments. They usually enter that team.

Some teams are formed by grouping together the best players in their local league and entering as one team.

Other teams, add to that by bringing in players from other areas to strengthen their roster.

We also have many teams that are 'reunion' teams made up of players who used to play together growing up in club, high school or college.

Teams who play in semi pro leagues also enter their team in the Premier or Elite divisions.

As long as players are registered with a USASA sanctioned league; or, obtain a Beer City Cup Single-Event Pass through USASA, they are able to join your team.

HOW MUCH PRIZE MONEY DOES A TEAM WIN?
$1750 per team entered in Men's Elite                                                                                                              $312.50 per team entered in Women's, CoEd and Men's Premier Divisions
$200 per team entered in O30                                                                                                                                  $150 per team entered in O40 Premier                                                                                                                  $100 per team entered in O50 and O55

Women's Rec, CoEd Rec, Over 40 Rec, Over 60 and Over 65 Champions receive a $250 discount off any 2025 Beer City Cup

SHOULD OUR TEAM ENTER THE PREMIER or REC DIVISION?
Premier teams usually consist of ex-club / college / semi-pro or professional players. The level of play is vey high.

SHOULD I REGISTER and PAY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE?
Beer City Cup sells out within a few days of registration opening. If your team wants to play, you should register the day registration opens.

ARE FEMALE PLAYERS ALLOWED TO PLAY IN THE MEN'S "Over" DIVISONS?
Yes!! Our tournament rules have all the details, but we allow female players to be up to 10 years younger than male players. We also allow whole teams if their players meet the eligibility requirements.

HOW MANY PLAYERS ARE ALLOWED ON A ROSTER?
20 is the max, but teams are allowed to list up to 25 before the roster window closes. Then, they can go and remove players should some not be able to come, get injured, etc.

DO I NEED A 'Player Pass'?
If you currently play in a sanctioned adult soccer league that's affiliated with U.S. Adult Soccer Association, you do NOT need to obtain a Beer City Cup tournament only pass.

HOW MUCH IS A BEER CITY CUP TOURNAMENT ONLY PASS?
$25 for a Single-Event Pass. It includes a $5,000 supplemental insurance policy in case of injury.

Amatuer adult soccer players 18+. Former professional players who are 'out of contract' are eligible.

At least 18. Depending on the age group, you have to 'turn that age by the end of the calendar year'. Divisions offered include: Over 30, 40, 50, 55, 60 and 65. So, if you want to play in the Over 40s, you have to be at least 40 years old by the end of this year.

CAN I PLAY IN MORE THAN ONE DIVISION?
Yes, but only on one team within a division. For example: you can play in Women's Premier and CoEd Premier, but not on two different teams in Women's nor CoEd Premier.

Yes! Across all Beer City Cup locations >> Click on the icon of the city you want to play in. The sign up link for Free Agents is towards the bottom of that page. 8am on Saturday and Sunday

WHAT SIZE ARE THE FIELDS and GOALS?
Fields: 80 x 55 yards    Goals: 7' x 21'

 DO TEAMS NEED UNIFORMS?
Yes, teams must at least have matching jerseys that are numbered.

 ARE SHINGUARDS REQUIRED?
Yes, all players must wear them.

IS THERE A WOMEN'S "Over" DIVISION?
Unfortunately, no. We've tried to get a Women's Over 35 division started, but only one team in two years entered. We created a Women's Rec division with no age limit and have had success there. This division has a mix of ages that's leveled out by skill and age so it's fun and competitive for all players.

Women ARE allowed in all divisions. They're allowed to be 10 years younger in all of the "Over" Divisions.
