Rainout Policy:
*Please contact your coach for any updates that have been made.

1. The initial decision to cancel games will not occur earlier than 60 minutes before the first scheduled game/practice of the day (5:00 p.m. for weekday games).  Although, decisions will frequently be made 60 minutes before the scheduled game time, games can be cancelled at any time by Blanchard Athletic Club officials at a time close to the game’s start time, after it becomes clear that the field will not be ready despite the preparation being done on the field and/or the conditions inhibit the safety of others.

2. The initial decision to cancel games may or may not cancel all games for the day.  For example:  a 6:00 p.m. game could be cancelled and the 7:30 p.m. game could still be played.  Also, a game on Field #5 may be cancelled, and a game on the Field #1 may be played.  Please be aware of what games have been cancelled and what games may still be played. Touch base with your coaches. 

3. On days that it rains, the more volunteers we have help prepare the field, as early as possible, and prior to any team activities, then we are less likely to cancel/call a rainout.  Anyone  who is available should come to the fields as early as possible to help get the fields ready for play. We are all volunteers working together in great efforts to keep the kids in the game. 

4. In deciding whether to cancel a game, the following factors will be considered:

a. The amount of rain and lightning and the current condition of the fields

b. The weather forecast; if any additional rain is expected

c. The likelihood of getting the fields ready by the game start time

d. The amount of help available to get the fields ready; all hands on deck

5. Cancellations and updates will be made available via Blanchard Athletic Club website and/or BAC Facebook page. 

a. League representatives will first alert league commissioners, who then can communicate directly with coaches in their age divisions.

b. Parent’s concerned about rainouts should always contact their head coaches first. If the coaches do not know, the league officials do not know. Messaging us on Facebook,  sending emails, phone calls, etc. is not necessary and we will not be responding to them. 

c. After communicating with commissioners, Blanchard Athletic Club will post rain outs on our Facebook page and possibly the website if time permits.
