Chatham Pony League

If you are interested in coaching a team, please contact your league Commissioner directly or use the "Coach Signup" link posted above during the active season. Prior to the start of every season there will be a coaches' meeting for both experienced and novice coaches to discuss rules, etc.

We cannot guarantee placement on any particular team, but will try our best to do so. Make sure put down Middle School or High School you are playing for when registering.

1. The cost is $100 per player with a max # of 15 players per team. Every player/parent must sign a Waiver Form before play.

2. Play begins on Saturday May 4th if possible. Depending on teams, games will begin at 5 or 6pm during week & 10am on Saturdays. If there are two game’s in one night, the 2nd team will have 15 min to warm up. . Starting pitchers and catchers MAY use the bullpen while the first game is being played. 

3. There is a two-hour time limit with no new inning starting after 2 hours. If the game is tied after seven innings and there is still time, one extra inning will be played. Games can end in a tie. 

4. Pitchers go by the pony pitching rules for each age group. See rule book.

5. Free substitution (Cannot change batting order).Contact Director for more info on batting order if don’t understand. Can Bat 10

6. The gate will open 1 hour before the first game.  $6 admission, sorry no passes. Players/coaches/scorekeepers get free admission. 

 7. Players need to be in uniform to enter. 

8. CAGE TIMES- Home team get cage 1 hour before game time and Away team 30min. before game time. 

 9. No infield/outfield before the game. 

10. Team listed on schedule first is the home team (Home team is 1st base dugout at Chatham Central).

11. The home team is responsible for getting foul balls each game...Away team if it's right behind your dugout please gets the foul balls… Each game, Home team will get 4 new baseballs before the game starts, if those baseballs are lost during that game then home team is responsible for getting new baseballs for that game. Game baseballs must be returned to the director on site at the end of the game.

12. Clean the dugout at the end of game.  Put all trash in the trash cans.  Home team is responsible for putting up basses (put plug in hole at each base), raking cut outs 1st & 3rd base, pitching mound, and home plate (pitching mound and home plate may need to be tarped, ask director)

13. High School rules (runners for pitchers/catchers, DH only for pitcher 16u).

14. Most importantly, Stay off the umpires!!! (Tell your parents) Head Coach is the only person that can speak to umpire’s
