F.A.Q.
  • I'm an experienced player, is this camp only for beginners?

Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned player, our camp caters to different experience levels. We offer Advanced, Intermediate or Beginner skill groups to fit your needs and maximize your experience. You decide the skill group that best suits you, so that you are learning, appropriately challenged, and get the most out of your camp sessions.

  • What do the training sessions cover at camp?

We practice technical skills like dribbling, passing, receiving, ball control, combination play, and finishing. We offer goal keeper training sessions for goalies. We also work on tactics – transitional play, positioning, as well as attacking and defending strategies. We play small-sided games and full field games.

  • I’m from out of town. What airport do I fly into?

Raleigh Durham International Airport. Miller Fields are 12 miles (about a 16 minute drive) from RDU. Our camp is conveniently located at the beautiful campus of North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina.

  • I'm traveling from out-of-town, what accommodations are available?

We've secured a discounted rate for our out-of-town campers at the La Quinta® by Wyndham Raleigh - Cary. The hotel is conveniently near the Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) and also North Carolina State University, the location of our camp. Enjoy a free hot breakfast each morning, and soak your sore muscles in the outdoor pool after soccer training. • Why do I have to purchase an NCASA pass to attend camp?

As an NCASA/USASA affiliate organization, each of our camp registrants must purchase an NCASA Player Pass. If you currently play in an NCASA league, you purchased a Player Pass when you registered to your league, and will not need to purchase another. The NCASA Player Pass confers a number of benefits: • $5,000 Player Accident Insurance (Secondary Policy) • Annual player pass for all USASA and NCASA Tournaments! • Tournament Blasts • Quarterly Newsletter • Annual NCASA Awards • State Association Officer Eligbility • Annual Meeting and Workshops

  • I can’t make all of the sessions, can I still come to camp?

Yes. Please reach out to Laura Collins at laura@sportingcarolina.com. She will work with you to accommodate your schedule.

  • Who are the coaches?

We hire only outstanding, professional coaches with experience coaching adults. Our Touchline coaches will be led by Director, Paul Ellis, who is currently the Technical Director at Virginia Valor FC in Northern Virginia. Paul is a previous collegiate coach at George Mason University and is a current staff coach for VYSA Coach Education. Paul holds a USSF A License and is a current Coach Educator. Paul and his family founded Soccer Academy in VA two decades ago, offering the first residential adult soccer camp in the United States. That camp is still going strong and is the inspiration for our camp! Paul, now retired from Soccer Academy, has graciously agreed to help us launch camp here in North Carolina!

  • Do you offer refunds if I have to cancel?

Yes. Full refunds (not including the incurred electronic transaction fees) for the camp fee are available up until May 30th. After May 30th, refunds will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The Player Pass is issued by NCASA. You will need to reach out to NCASA for the Player Pass refund.
